Hartismere Community HospitalA centre of health and wellbeing for the whole community
Stop PressSuffolk Primary Care Trust has now announced its plans for the future of Hartismere Hospital . The site is to be sold and the PCT are to retain some element of healthcare within a new medical facility. Marketing is about to take place and organisations are being invited to bid for the site, laying out intended plans that would incorporate some healthcare provision. Hartismere Health and Care wants to provide not only flexible and modern local health services which reflect local people's choice and health needs but also a wider range of well being, health promoting and care provision which would enable to be a focal point for other business and community initiatives. Hartismere Health Village will include a modern community hospital, providing a wide range of outpatient and diagnostic clinics as well as intermediate care beds, the GP practice and assisted living and extra care housing for older people. All three local NHS acute Hospitals: Ipswich , Norfolk and Norwich and West Suffolk would like to work with Hartismere Health & Care to provide services in a new community hospital. As well as health care provision Hartismere Health Village will provide the opportunity for a whole range of services including the retention of the Complementary Therapy Centre and a nursery on the site. Other businesses already interested in providing services at Hartismere include a Pilates Group, a sports therapist, a day care centre, and charity and social care groups. HH&C have consulted widely about how they can best serve the community at large and their bid is being supported by the following groups; Hartismere High School Fiona Newton Rural Dean of Hoxne Vicar of the parishes of Brundish, Cratfield, Laxfield, Syleham, Wilby and Wingfield Anchor Storage Ltd Susan Whymark Funeral Service Ltd Pilates East Anglia Rackham's Funeral Service Local Women's Institutes Alzheimer's Society Scanned copies of all our letters of support (PDF file 4mb) can be found on Documents page.
